Purpose
This initiative exists to ensure that the knowledge, language, and lived experiences of Indigenous elders are preserved and carried forward to future generations.
Through intergenerational exchange, this work strengthens identity, restores cultural continuity, and provides guidance for community-based development rooted in Indigenous ways of knowing. It affirms that the voices of our elders are not only to be remembered, but to actively guide the present and shape the future.
Honoring Quiet Pillars of the Community
This initiative also prioritizes the identification and honoring of mothers and grandmothers whose lives have served as foundational pillars within their families and communities. Many of these women are not publicly recognized, do not seek visibility, and have not been documented in formal spaces; yet, their influence is profound.
They are the steady carriers of culture, the keepers of language, the teachers within the home, and the ones who have sustained generations through strength, humility, and unwavering presence. Through this work, In His Spirit, Inc. intentionally seeks to sit with and learn from these women—ensuring their voices, wisdom, and lived contributions are respectfully acknowledged and preserved.
Honoring the Well-Being of Our Men
In His Spirit, Inc. recognizes that the well-being of our men is essential to the strength of our families and communities. Many of our men carry responsibilities, experiences, and unspoken burdens that are not always acknowledged or given space to be expressed.
This work affirms the importance of creating environments where men are seen, heard, and supported—where their stories can be shared without judgment and their roles as fathers, grandfathers, leaders, and protectors are honored. Through respectful engagement and relationship-building, this initiative contributes to restoring balance, strengthening identity, and supporting the mental and emotional well-being of our men as a vital part of community healing.
How It Works
